12 Steps To Get Dog Poop Out Of Carpet Step By Step

With this step by step, you will be able to clean poop stains from your carpet. You will need, yes, a little patience.

Step 1: Prepare Yourself

Remove your puppy from the area to be cleaned. If necessary, lock him up in a safe place.

Of course, tell him in a firm voice that what he has done is wrong and that you are not happy with him. Don't raise your voice and of course, don't hit him. Just stand your ground and look him in the eye.

Once it's locked in, get ready to get down to business. Put on the protective gloves and prepare all the elements mentioned in the previous point. You should have everything ready before you start cleaning the stains of the carpet.

Step 2: Pick up your puppy's poop

Use 100% plastic-free, TÜV Austria compostable bags to collect the dog waste. Close the bag and put it in a safe place to put in your compost bin or dispose of it properly later.

Step 3: Remove The Poop

Surely, in addition to the stain, there are small traces of poop on the carpet. It is time to use the baby wipes to remove them.

Run the baby wipes across the rug, trying to lift as much poop as possible. One wipe is recommended to avoid making the stain worse.

Step 4: Make Your Homemade And Ecological Cleaner

To make your carpet stain cleaner, mix two cups of water with 1 tablespoon of eco-friendly dish soap and a tablespoon of white vinegar in a spray bottle. If you don't have it, use a bowl.

Note: your soap mustn't contain bleach, since in that case it could not be mixed with the white vinegar.

Step 5: Spray The Poop Stain On The Carpet

Dab some of your homemade cleaner on the stain. If you have a sprayer, perfect. If not, you can use a spoon. Let stand 10 minutes.

Are you still using plastic bags to pick up your dog's poop? These take around 50 years to degrade.

Better use compostable dog poop bags.

Step 6: Dry

Blot the stained area with paper towels or a cloth. You mustn't scrub, but simply rest the cloth or paper towels on the area.

Step 7: Repeat The Spray

If the stain is still visible, repeat the spray. Let stand another 10 minutes.

Step 8: Re-Dry

After 10 minutes, dry again. If necessary, you can repeat the process.

Step 9: Rinse

Has the stain disappeared, and you can only see a halo? It's time to rinse. Use cold water and dry again with the help of a cloth.

Step 10: Use Baking Soda

The baking soda will help remove the last traces of the poop stain from the carpet while removing any bad odors. Place baking soda on the area and let it dry completely.

Generally, the complete drying process will take at least an hour, although it can take longer, even overnight, depending on the materials of your carpet and the amount of cleaner you must have used.

Step 11: Vacuum The Carpet

Once the carpet is dry, vacuum it to remove all traces of baking soda.

Step 12: Enjoy

At last, you have managed to get the poop stains out of your carpet.

FAQ

How to get dog poop stains out of the carpet?

Is It Safe For Me (Or My Kids) To Clean Up After My Dog?

Absolutely – but you'll need to take extra precautions. Make sure you're wearing gloves so that bacteria from the feces doesn't come into contact with your skin. Additionally, if you have children, make sure they know not to touch or play with the mess and wash their hands thoroughly after cleaning is finished. Finally, always check the ingredients of cleaning products before using them and avoid harsh chemicals if you have children or pets in the house.

How Can I Avoid Dog Accidents On The Carpet In The Future?

The best way to avoid accidents is through consistent potty training. Make sure you're following a schedule with regular times for your pup to go outside and get plenty of praise each time they get it right. They'll get the message eventually – patience pays off here!

Additionally, make sure you're cleaning up any messes immediately so that your pup doesn't associate certain areas of your home or certain surfaces as acceptable bathroom spots. And lastly, if all else fails, get some pet-safe odor neutralizers or enzymatic cleaners, which will help get rid of any odors that might be lingering and attracting your pup back to the same spot. With these tips, you should be able to get a handle on dog accidents in no time!

Is There An Easier Way To Get Rid Of The Poop Smell?

Absolutely! There are a few household ingredients that can get rid of odors quickly and easily. Start by mixing together equal parts white vinegar and water, then spray this mixture on the soiled area. You can also try using baking soda or natural essential oils (like lemon, eucalyptus, or tea tree) mixed with water in a spray bottle as well. Just spritz it onto the affected area, let it sit for 10-15 minutes before blotting it dry with paper towels or a dry cloth. Vacuum up any remaining residue, and you'll be good to go!
